To All TECH WARS 2009 at ECC South Participants,

I would like thank all of the volunteers from Erie Community College, including ECC President Jack Quinn for his opening remarks, WNYTEA and others from the community at large who helped make TECH WARS such a successful event. A special thank you to Bob Slawinowski and Bob Stranz for all the running around that I put them through for the last few months and to all of our current and past event coordinators for all the hard work on creating and maintaining the Tech Wars events. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Congratulations to all the students and the teachers who worked with them to get them ready to participate in the competitions. Although individual students or groups of students win prizes, all students benefit by sharing different methods of solving the problems that the competitions present. Students bringing their projects and competing gives them the opportunity to see what happens in the real world where businesses compete to be the best and how hard work and education can lead to a successful career of their choosing.

The rules for Tech Wars 2009 will remain posted on the website; however events and coordinators change. The 2010 rules for TECH WARS 2010 at ECC South will be finalized by this end of 2009 or early in 2010.

A final list of the top six competitors for each event will be posted on www.wnytea.com within a week or two.
Again, thank you and congratulations to all, and have a restful, safe summer.
